Blau-Weiss Linz defeated Wolfsberger AC 3-0 and left the bottom of the table. The win was the first since the 13th round and gives the Upper Austrians a one-point lead over the new last-placed team.

What happened?

The first goal was scored in the 29th minute, when Shon Weissman scored after a cross from Ronivaldo. The defender Gernot Baumgartner fell to the ground, but the referee did not give a foul.

The second half

In the second half, the WAC had to become more offensive, but the Linzer used the counter-chances. A free kick from Nico Maier at the edge of the penalty area led to the 2-0 goal. The WAC goalkeeper Polster miscalculated and made a decisive step into the other corner.

The final offensive

The WAC reacted with a logical final offensive, but the Linzer defended well. Nico Maier scored again and secured the 3-0 win for Blau-Weiss Linz.

The consequences

The win gives Blau-Weiss Linz a one-point lead over the new last-placed team. The WAC, on the other hand, is on the last place in the table and is in danger of being relegated. Coach Thomas Silberberger spoke clearly: „If I'm honest, not much speaks for us. The team is in a difficult situation. It's a very dangerous situation, and I'm aware of that.“
